I see my error. Even though the voltage temperature coefficient (VTC) is worse, it is based on a 84 cell module, the Kyrocera is based on a 36 cell module.
To make a direct comparison, we need to compare VTC at the cell level.
Sanyo HIT: VTC = -0.142V/C/Module / 84 cells/Module = -1.69 mV/C/cell
Kyrocera: VTC = -0.082V/C/Module / 36 cells/Module = -2.28 mV/C/cell
So yes, the Sanyo HIT is more efficient.
