Lessee,
Seven thousand dollar 3,000 cycle batteries for me is much like fitting 300 dollar 100,000 mile tires to a '78 chevrolet with a rod knocking...
In a year or two, the math might work. They are not targeting you (or me) however because you won't live that long. Then you have to figure what your time is worth if anything.. Old people have time. Young people like my kids don't want to be bothered with battery stuff. They just want power now and tomorrow morning.
In my convoluted sensibilities a price factor of 1.5 to twice that of a premium AGM would be the line drawn in the sand. The limit. The energy density factor is a disappointment. Merely adding more AGM resolves that. The Lipo can absorb an amazing charge rate. Have any of you pencilled out the size of generator needed to push say a 400-ampere charger. My KATO power head is far larger than most entire RV generators. How does the math pencil out percentage wise? The skewed data I read re charge times assumes unlimited charging amperage will be used. I believe the factors have to be compared versus AGM not flooded. I have a 31 that loves an 88 amps initial charge rate. Number comparisons to full charge TIME then feasibilityof providing that charge rate advantage. This is about hard-core numbers. Comparisons. Length of service? Supposedly much longer. Again more numbers compaeing Lipo to AGM not flooded. Keeping your rig 20 years are you? Swapping batteries means swapping identical BCI sizes and numbers.
In making an intelligent choice there is much to ponder IMHO
