The question has to do with management and determining remaining capacity. Pure ergonomics...
Mex, it appears one could choose whatever SOC/HCV range works well for them. Of course, with a Trimetric, it's default setting (5% I think it is?) would have to be programmed for the correct % of charging inefficiency. Other than that, I don't see why it wouldn't do a good job of tracking Ah's... certainly no worse than with Lead Acid.
