My only training and experience in operation was with Lead Acid batteries on Diesel and Nuclear Submarines. Cells weighing as much as a Volkswagen. :R
Interestingly, all of our current Nuclear Submarines still have Lead Acid batteries as an emergency power source
While Lead Acid batteries can gas off Hydrogen and when exposed to sea water will produce Chlorine Gas, other type batteries are not without their very own issues.
