Thermostat

Hello,
I need to ask the experts on here a question about thermostats in travel trailers?
I would like to upgrade my thermostat, and was wondering can I buy any thermostat to replace mine?
Or do I have to get a certain one, or you cannot change out the thermostat in a trailer, only replace what you have now?
My trailer is a 2019 "30amp"!

I thank you in advance

  • Home thermostats usually operate from a transformer at 24 volts so they won't work. There are many thermostats that operate on AA batteries, this is what you need.
They will operate your LP gas heater and the A/C
  • There are numerous threads here about thermostats. Do a search at the top of this thread and you should get lots of info.

    Not on Dometic units.
  • a hunter or honeywell non programmable thermostat will work
  • Need a picture, model number, something to determine exactly what thermostat you have.

It depends on what sort of air conditioner/thermostat interface you have. Some are more or less the same as standard thermostats and you can use most any battery-powered digital thermostat. Others are tied to one or a few specific RV thermostats.

If this is just for heat, and no AC, you can use practically any (non-smart) thermostat.
