Thetford Tecma not holding water

I previously contacted Thetford about my Tecma not holding water. They said to verify that the hose from the stool had a "J" loop that was above the water line. The stool was pulled and the loop was verified. The hose clamps were tightened. When we started on our winter trip, the stool was functioning normally. Now, it is no longer holding water. It very slowly drains out over about an hour. I am out of factory warranty by one month. Got any suggestion?

The link below has a solution that seems to works.

    Tecma Fix

go-rv'r, I see you are on this forum too. For anyone who is interested in this issue, that is my post on irv2 and the fix suggested by go-rv'r. Fix was easy. Winnebago paid for the fix less the $45 service call.

There is also the classic problem where the toilet knife valve is not making a good seal. Needs silicone spray and a good scrubbing itself and around where it goes into.

This is a MACERATOR Toilet. There is NO knife valve. Doug

The Toilet has a 2 year warranty. Does the water drain out while camped or while driving? On the back of the toilet, you will see a "Y" hose that is connected to the 2 fill/flush nozzles. Then you will see the LARGE 1.5 inch discharge hose (the J loop). The TOP of that loop MUST be even with the flush nozzles. If NOT, then you have the siphon effect draining the toilet bowl. Look at the link. pics I-1 and I-2 are not correct for your install. Figure A is close. Look at item 6 page 10 to see how high that hose should be. Doug

Thanks! You've been more helpful than Thetford. I think Winnebago didn't install correctly. Will pull stool and check diagram.
