For years I always left the inverter off. Then last summer I was somewhere with a lot of storms and power was going out almost daily so I asked people here if they leave their inverters on all the time to take over if the power goes out and they said they did. I've left it on since then. It has to be on when I'm unplugged for me to continue working so that will always be on when I am on solar. This is the only home I have and I don't want to live like I'm camping. I have replaced most of my bulbs with LEDs though. I need to ferret out other draws on the system and figure out if this is something that could work for me.
