NEVER use any type sealant on the LH threaded stuff.
Those are not pipe threads, and therefore do not seal in the threads !
And NEVER use tape on any cast aluminum, or even cast iron. It will split wide open before you even think its tight.
Much of the casted stuff has the warning label rite on it,..."DO NOT USE TEFLON TAPE"
