Would it be better to carry a Schumacher starter that can do 40+ amps and a Honda eu2000 generator? I've jumped a completely dead battery using this method. As an added bonus, there is no arcing when the jumper cables are attached and removed, so there is less chance of frying some delicate component buried somewhere inaccessible.
