- RJsfishinExplorerI have had so many heat related tire failures in my early ignorant days, I refuse to drive or travel in anything over 90 degs.
Doesn't matter what the heat rating is, running a tire in hot weather is shortening its life. - wcjeepExplorer
- PopsieExplorerAn asphalt roadway can get up near 200 degrees in direct sunlight when it's above 100 degrees in the desert. Your tires are going to be close to the temperature of the roadway.
I've measured my tires at 140 degrees in the desert. If you don't have other options, at least slow way down when the temperature is way up. - muelldawgExplorerMe neither, mena661. And where I live it can get hotter than 115F.
Kidding aside, I do keep speed down when it is above 90. - mena661Explorer

Does anyone know the safe Temperature of tires when traveling in hot weather. Thanks in advance. - wcjeepExplorerTemps will be different for everyone. I test my tires against each other. Expect the sun side of the vehicle to be warmer. My sun side is normally 10deg warmer. Your results may vary. I also use an exhaust brake. My brakes/wheel temp is normally just above ambient temperature.
