I am using a cap that has an LED flashing light if the pressure drops about 10 %. You set the pressure in the tires to whatever you need then the caps set themselves at that pressure and flash if it drops.
I remove them once a year to check tire pressure and see the lights flash to check the batteries.
I am confident they work well and easy to check before driving away. I found them on e-bay.
The caps will not give you a warning while underway.
I picked up a 3/8 x 2 inch bolt in a trailer tire while underway. My Pressure Pro system indicated that I was losing pressure in the tire. I was able to pull off the highway to a safe place to investigate why I was losing pressure. The TPMS saved me from a tire failure and possible damage to my trailer.
