You might want to at least look into the Michelin Rib ('XPS', I think). All-steel, heavy, more cost. 2nd hand from various forums, less traction on slippery surfaces, but a heck of a durable tire, and reportedly cures some of the handling ills of the Ford E-series.
You'd probably be charged the price difference for the upgrade.
