I'll add my two cents. I have seen on-line sellers, such as the Tire Rack, sell tires many YEARS old as new. If you buy on-line be SURE they agree on age PER DOT CODE.
IMHO all tires on any one axle should match. No need for all 6 to match. In fact on my sports car I prefer different tires front and rear, I get better handling.
