I was on hold for fifteen minutes with Comcast last night, and was connected to a call center rep who could not speak English!My problem:The RV has a cable box in it with a wire running to the box attached from the RV outlet in the basement to the cable box to the house.Cable box is then connected to the coach television.We are going camping to a location that does not have cable service.When I disconnect the "wire" from the RV port to the box at the house connection:Do I also have to disconnect the cable box from the television itself if we are just going to use the all in one DVD player on the television?There is no television reception where we are going, so it will be DVD's only.jb

Rather than talk to India..I experiment when I have tech questions/issues.Do one thing at a time and make notes - mark wires with tape, etc and see what happens.This way you can reverse what you did and try something else until you get the results you want.I agree - sometimes talking to 'tech' supports in a foreign language.....well- not so helpful.

You will have an "output" on your DVD player. Just find a compatible "input" on the TV. A problem may come up if your output on your DVD player is an HDMI output and your TVis an older model that does not have an HDMI input. If it is coax to coax, it is a simple connection to make.

Additional.. With your clairfication that the dvd player is built into the TV.

IT will work period, no problems (Less of course the DVD player dies of old age as many do fairly young) When you are watching DVD's the Cable box (or sat box if you go that route) does not exist far as the TV is concerned. it simply ignores it. So it WILL work, just as it is.

Dump Comcast. Go with DirecTV. Take it wherever you go. Just stay away from overhanging trees.

what year is your southwind my 2005 32ft came with DVD player and selector box.
the input in your bay should have gone to the selector box for cable. all I have to do is select DVD on the selector box and play the. DVD. do you have a selector box?

For pete sake. Go out and unhook from the house cable setup. Now turn on the TV and see if the DVD works.

And why do you all have to make such racists statements. I can't understand plenty of people in the US, regional accents can be hard to understand at times. And why would anyone think that someone at Comcast would know how to advise one to set up their RV? Is it so hard to learn how your rig is wired and works?

had the same problem with the Hudsons Bay Co. in Canuckistan. Had a warranty issue, customer service was some fellow named Baboo in India. Got the serious run around. Chucked that plan, called investor relations and *****ed at them, problem solved VERY quickly thereafter. Good luck

It seems to me this is an issue with the operation of the television not your cable service. Why don't you take a few minutes and read your owner's manual?

If the DVD player works with the cable box connected, but turned off (or even on), then leave it that way.

If the DVD will not work at home Then you will have to disconnect.

FACT: Most modern TV's have A/V inputs as well as RF and many have HDMI and some have other (S-Video, Pby and so on) DVD players usually have only A/V (3 cable white, red, yellow color code) some have S-Video never seen one with RF.

So you may just need to select the proper input with the TELEVISION (NOT the cable) remote.

Simply tell them you can not understand them and ask to be transferred. You can also ask for tier 2 support.

Your request should be granted immediately without discussion.

In many cases if you ask to speak to someone who speaks English , the non-english speaking person will put you on hold and transfer the call to a better, or sometimes USA english speaking customer rep. It's always worth a try as it works sometimes.
