Toilet squeak....

I replaced the ball and seals last weekend and I'm noticing a squeak that seems to be coming from between the ball and the seals whenever I open the ball to flush. Just at the start it squeaks. It holds water fine. Could the clamp holding the bowl to the pedestal be too tight? Maybe some kind of Teflon treatment to make it a little more slippery?

Not the end of the world but a little annoying.

Thanks...
  • Thanks. I put a little plumber's grease just under the lip of the seal where it was squeaking and that did the trick.
  • My instructions from customer service, tighten metal clamp to 50 inch lbs making certain the plastic C clamp is seated correctly with the gap located in the back. You could also pour some olive oil in the bowl, that will give some lubrication. Good luck, Don.
