I have experienced the same thing as tpi. When going down a long 6 degree downgrade, I find that tow/haul will actually down shift to, in my opinion, too low of a gear and puts too much RPM. Once I since this might happen, I take tow/haul off and manually downshift. Recently I have also learned to slow way down (say 20 MPH) at the summit of a mountain, engage tow/haul and the T/H seems to keep me at a slower speed longer with occasional tapping on the break pedal. Since I don't believe the E-450 was designed specifically for MH's, I think the weight of a MH is much higher than what the V-10 was designed for on a full time basis. So, I keep my rig in T/H (since if feel I am hauling) when I am driving in town. Basically, the only time T/H is off is when I am driving on a flat freeway. I hope this makes since even though I may be wrong with my thinking.
