No, some a rabidly pro global warming and will argue to no end that you can't show them a tailpipe. At the same time that they are saving mother earth they idolize an ev that can go zero to sixty in 3.5 seconds and reach 160 mph. When you suggest building an ev with mimimum resources and only go the speed limit they think you are crazy. They want the gov or someone else to solve the supposed problem but willing to compromise their lifestyle one bit.
If there was really a GW crisis NO one would be doing anything anywhere near how we are doing things. The last thing in the world you would have are RVs or boats or ATVs and on and on.
They'd be mandating MAXIMUM house square footage not minimum building sq footage. Its insanity if you are honest with yourself. - burningmanExplorer IIThey must all be retired...
- BobboExplorer IIIYahoo News recently had an article about going all electric. I posted in the comment forum that I sometimes drive 500 miles in a day (I didn't mention towing, I didn't want to complicate things), so an electric would not work for me. With my 36 gallon tank, I can do that without a fuel stop (but usually top off the tank after 400 or 450 miles). They could absolutely not understand why stopping for ONLY 15 minutes every 100 miles was a problem. They finally said I had unrealistic requirements before the conversation ended.

ok, how about using a Tesla as a toad?
Possibly a FWD like LEAF or Bolt could be dragged on a dolly.
Some Ford PHEV's can be dragged 4 wheels down. mchero wrote:

- Yes and people still fall for the thought that the grid is about to collapse under load due to the required marketing to give your appliances the afternoon off being projected since at least the 1960s. OK there might be a few places that are in need of immediate upgrade with or without EVs. What are they waiting for?
The good part is there is a strong correlation to owning an EV and having solar on the roof. The roof solar continues to feed the grid when at home or when towing a trailer with an EV. - fj12ryderExplorer III

Well duh, why wouldn't they encourage people to use more electricity. Kind of like encouraging people to use more gasoline. Money, money, money.azrving wrote:
The electric utilities are encouraging EV adoption and look forward to growing their business. Even in AZ.
Sure, your own solar may help a good deal but massive electrical infrastructure upgrading will be needed.
