TPMS - Good brand names?
I keep thinking I should buy myself a TPMS for my TT, as I see a lot of highway time. I had two flats on my previous TT, neither of which I noticed or felt until the tire was shredded beyond belie...

I carry an infrared "gun" and do stop to do a "walk around" every hour. I measure the tires for heat.
That stopping once an hour to check them is a great idea. That way when you pick up a piece of debris while getting back on the road you will only drag a shredded tire around for another hour till your next stop and then you can use the digital thermometer to let us know just how hot a rim that has no tire left really gets as I have always wanted to know that. To the OP, I don't think brand is nearly important as having one.
