I just bought a new tpms & the dirictions for the monitor are to have one wire(red) connect to a constant 12 volt & a white wire to iginition & black to gnd. it works fine with red & white to ignition...

The constant 12 volt is typically to keep your memory settings while the ignition is turned off.
