Trailer Tail Light Wires??

i have a Jayco Eagle Fifth wheel and the socket in my tail light is rusty and causing problems. I'm going to replace the socket.
The tail light has a green, black and white wire coming from the trailer.

Does anyone know what function (i.e. turn signal) corresponds to what wire color?

Thank You!!
  • Green is RUNNING Light
    Black is BRAKE Light
    White is ground

2nd correction I have to stop drinking beer after doing yard work and then posting.
  • This is a picture of the wires coming from the trailer:
  • The white wire should be a ground wire , the green is the right turn and brake lite. The black wire shouldn't be there, it should be brown. but it's probably the tail light or running light.
    Good luck.
  • Easy to check with a multi-meter. Hook the pig tail to your tow vehicle and have someone in the cab activate the turn signal, then the brakes, then the tail light.

With the multi-meter you can tell which wire is getting power when...
