- MEXICOWANDERERExplorerJanuary is "Bag Buying Month"!
AQUA PAC is impressive. Sold me!
1 Case of 3mm zipper bags from U-Line. For meter and tester storage when not in use.
1 Box of Silica Gel packets.
The beach at Las Penas, usually has an onshore breeze. Eight foot surf smashing against rocks (the penas). Eighty five degree water, ninety degree air moving at 15 mph. How bad is the moisture? After an hour, everything feels greasy. It's intense: 18-8 stainless corrodes. I brought down 200 lbs of hot dip galvanized lag screws to fasten the enramada together. It's the only thing that holds up. A 16 penny nail will rust to zero inside a year. Corrosion speed of outboard motor electrics and electronics is near insane.
Spent two days coating the inside of microwave oven, egg beater, even the coffeemaker with conformal coating. It's as bad as maintaining a ship. - loggenrockExplorerMex - look on Amazon for "AquaPac" or "Dry Pak". Inexpensive and durable pouches designed especially for smartphones, GPS units, cameras, etc. I've used them for years to protect such things while canoeing, skiing, hiking, etc. Sturdy, easy-to-access latches/closures. ¡BINGO!
I'll try them tomorrow when I can use my laptop.
Thank You - coolmom42Explorer IIFreezer bags are more heavy duty than storage bags.
Also... if you are willing to buy like 1,000 at a time---shipping packaging suppliers like U-line sell very very heavy-duty plastic bags with zip-loc type closures. They are not certified for direct food contact, unlike brands such as Ziploc. - MEXICOWANDERERExplorerI of course will check out every suggestion, so, thanks everyone!
Does any manufacturer make an extra-heavy duty zip-loc that has one of those slide-zippers?
Also thinking about ordering a case of tiny packets of moistue absorbant
Dang! Everything needs to be kept sealed tight, even the packets. - Pangaea_RonExplorerDouble the Freezer Zip-Loc bags. Roll the inside bag around the object and seal.
- DougEExplorerX2. Ziplock bag, of course.
- lryrob9301ExplorerA Hefty Freezer Zip-Loc bag will fit your needs. It's hardy, disposable, very reasonably priced and salt air & water proof, unless your looking for something more elegant and permanent..
