Trouble shooting suggestions-Thetford Toilet/water pump

If anyone has some trouble shooting suggestions, I would appreciate it. Today I used the water pump for the toilet and with pedal in closed position, water was dribbling in and water pump was cycling...

I had a similar problem at the first of the season last year. After cycling the foot pedal about a dozen times it cleared up. Maybe some type of lubrication would help.
