There was a big debate about this some months ago. A poster averred that you could lose connection with one of the sensors and not know it for a considerable length of time, as it would not necessarily set off the alarm. He was pooh-poohed by a lot of people, including me, saying that couldn't happen. It seems as though he was closer to the truth than we were.
The whole thing makes me concerned about the actual reliability of the system. I may have to do the check with removing a sensor, and make sure the system is working as it's supposed to.
I was that poster.
Here is a quote from the TST operation manual.

I do not have the software to convert a PDF to text so I took a screen shot.
If anyone wants to take the time to do a simple test as I had previously described they will learn what I said is true.
Next time you are in a campground and go to dinner leave the TST system on. Then when you are at a restaurant or what ever in about one hour you will get the loss of signal alarm. But from the time you leave the campground for 1 hour or more you will have what appears to be valid pressures for the trailer even though you may be 5 miles or more from the trailer.
Thanks for coming back and reminding us of your findings.
What bothers me is how and why does the system work if it takes an hour to notify if a sensor is dropped? I have removed mine to add air and the monitor went off within a minute or two. What the heck would cause it to wait up to an hour in some instances? This is very confusing, to say the least. But with the OP offering corroborating evidence of a problem, it certainly needs to be checked out.
