I had a turbo go out on my Cat engine in a Peterbilt 18 wheeler truck.
We pulled the air cooler, turned it so that the inlet side was pointed down and tapped with a rubber hammer and knocked out about a tablespoon of small pieces of turbo bits.
I would consider doing that.
Maybe others with experience will jump in and advise.
