It's more about setting up a charge system that works for me. At present I have a Peak portable 40 amper that likes to abs charge at over 15.2 volts, with no way of controlling what it does, and a pm-75?-45?-55? that draws more than it should for what it puts out, is unpredictable in its behaviour, and is only somewhat adjustable. Once set up properly, I stand to save several dollars in gas, not pennies, and wear and tear on the genset. Either way, I need a couple new chargers, so I might as well buy something that will actually do its job for a change.
