Umbilical Battery Charging Socket & Plug Pair (good price)

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Male-Female-2-pole-82-1042-82-1041-2-Way-Trailer-Plug-trailer-power-plug-T4-/172281209565?hash=item281cc2a2dd:g:LGkAAOSwIgNXkm8-&vxp=mtr

Accepts up to a PAIR of 2 AWG cables. This is the way to get reasonable alternator battery charging power from a tow vehicle to trailer or pickup bed to camper batteries. Note the SPLIT plug prongs. Insert a small screwdriver or knife into slots and widen. Presto, super connection restored. Gob silicone or Goop onto exposed socket wire connections for corrosion protection and short proofing

This is the best price I have found for the pair. Free shipping and no tax makes this hard-to-beat.

  • This is worse than a platinum credit card free-spending lady in Macy's during the annual White Sale.

This gets stuck through the firewall of my toad, connected to an 80 amp auto-reset breaker then to the alternator output stud. Inside the cab the 6-gauge welding cables come out of the plug to a pair of 500-amp fully insulated battery charger clamps. Can keep the Lifeline charged for overnight gas station squatting using the Bi-PAP and Endless Breeze fan. After which, disconnect the umbilical and toss it in the trunk. Money is money. 10 days of travel - free overnights, two-dollar showers, and buckets of tamales and empanadas. How to travel on 5 bucks a day. Beats the hell out of spending 500 dollars. And no - by RV, is waaaaaay more expensive. Toss another hundred bucks on top for the difference in toll road charges, and one-handed 26 mpg, five feet in width cruising on narrow mountain roads, and this is how to travel long distances on a pauper's budget. Have I ever explained I am a cheapskate?
  • Yes, bought a set for the TT I was bought. They look well made and the internals are well made also. Will hook up the new charging line next spring. Will be using #6 cable because I have a lot of it and the 300 amp relay from ebay when it was much cheaper.
