Not into any kind of brand argument. Simply this, Is it better to disconnect the load from the generator by unplugging it or shutting the generator down first. Probably best to turn off the load with breakers first, but I am lazy.

Start gen first, then plug in/ unplug first, then stop gen.

Turn off any large or sensitive loads (such as electronics) first, then it really doesn't matter.

I know that a small amount of arcing at the plug happens when unplugging first.

Unplug...but preferably NOT with a big load attached.

The Honda 2000 manual says unplug first.
