There was a handy slide out tray for the batteries:

But I had to ditch it to get the big 6 volt batteries in, they were too tall:

I cleaned the roof membrane and applied bonding adhesive with a roller, then let it dry:

I cleaned off the back of the solar panels, and applied the glue to them as well:

Then I laid the panels in place, pressed them down firmly over 100% of the surface, and laid a bead of caulk around the perimeter to keep moisture out:

I taped the wires to the roof using eternabond:

I removed the factory sae plug, because I could not find a 10 gauge plug locally, and didn't have time to order one:

Then I mounted a weatherproof junction box to make the wire connection and seal the hole:
