UPDATE Removing Sharp Carousel Micro/convection

UPDATE:

I decided to heat another cup of tea, no bang, no smell, no smoke. Continued to use it. We are now (and have been almost three weeks) in Puerto Vallarta and still use the microwave several times a day. In fact at the moment it is cooking a pizza in Convect mode. It would appear that the arcing managed to burn off what ever was causing the problem.

I may still take it out and have a look myself and/or have a tech look at it.
