upgrade xantrex 1000 to xantrex 1800
Can I upgrade my (dead) 1000 for a new 1800 with the existing wiring/batteries??? Would be a simple switch out as the boxes are essentially the same. Also does anyone have any comments on the newer ...

I pretty much absolutely avoid anything electrical sold by HF after a number of failures and disappointments. Their non-electrical stuff can be alright just so long as the part has minimal moving parts. Open end wrench is OK for example and I've even found that their socket drive wrenches are OK. Nothing more complex tho.
