My sc2500a was only on the market for a little while. I've seen it dostrange things even on the 2 amp setting, such as putting out 8 amps when the green "charged" light is illuminated.
I used to use this charger as a converter, but when I reduced my battery capacity, the voltage swings were much too wide from compressor cycling.
The 12awg cable to the alligator clips is now green along the whole length of the copper, and it gets very warm passing 25 amps. I only have about 12 inches of this highly resistive cable left with a 45 amp powerpole connector in it now.
I plan on removing it entirely and putting fresh 10awg right to the circuit board output.
I use a "Watts up" meter on the powerpole connectors to count current. Seems pretty accurate at currents above 0.8 amps.
Here it is on my Fridge circuit. For less than 25 bucks, I am happy with the purchase.
