I am not sure you can call RJ's system a "set it and forget it"
Voltage and capacity seem to be monitored at least daily at a consistant and relevent time.
Anyone can spend all day pulling levers, turning knobs, swapping equipment, monitoring all the meters and checking with a hydrometer just to get a perfect battery charge. I far prefer to have an automatic system to simply monitor periodically and tweak as needed.
LY318, I think you just need a periodic equalization charge to avoid the undercharging. I think the issue will mostly go away as the batteries break in a bit. Keep us posted.
