Well, I would prefer to get my system dialed in for my uses, then not worry about it so much, but like Mena, I am anal.
Many variables have changed for me over the last 3 months, and US battery jumping out there and posting recommended finishing charges in the 15v+ range had me wanting some opinions and discussion thereof from a few members here.
I have many ways to monitor what is going into and out of the battery(s), it is just that checking SG is quite a task on the one, and impossible on the other(AGM)
I appreciate the recommendations.
Right now the US battery is floating at 15.1 and taking 1.8 amps to hold that. If I temporarily parallel the Fully charged NorthStar AGM to it 2.5 amps are required to hold 15.1v after about 30 seconds or so.
BTW, when I cycle the AGM, despite it having 40 less claimed Amp hours, the voltages stay higher than the flooded, and even discharged to 35%, still cranks my engine easily.
I have not yet tried the USbattery as a starting battery with the same A/H removed from it, but doing so is possible now.
I full time 11 months a year, cycling nightly, so there is a difference in the more optimal regimen than to the typical Rv'er
