"I use my VEC1093DBD to "equalize" my pairs of 6s. It only goes to 4.1 amps in Equalize mode. However, it is not necessarily doing any desulfating other than normal recharging.
I have tried the variable voltage PowerMax instead on a pair of 6s and it also only did about 4 amps then tapered when set to 15.5v
I am not clear how you can get a "full" pair of 6s to accept higher amps than that unless you have an 18 volt charger or what ever. IMO if they were sulfated (so with reduced capacity) they would accept fewer amps than 4.1 at those voltages"

A MANUAL CHARGER used in conjunction with a VARIAC. You want .5 amps at 4 volts you got it. 8.73 volts at 10.69 amps, you got it. As long as the battery is automotive or larger.
Connect the MANUAL 10 amp charger to a SIX VOLT BATTERY and SELECT TWELVE VOLTS HIGH CHARGE RATE
Raise the dial on the VARIAC to wherever you want the ampere to be (within intelligence)
You'll have to tweak the dial three or four times during equalization to maintain 5% amp hour reading.
YES You read right. The charger is set on TWELVE VOLTS HIGH and connected to a single that means ONE 6-volt battery. The VARIAC and your intelligence is supposed to take over from there.
