my Safari pusher came factory, 200amp diode battery isolator
and emg jump start relay (many rvs do)
that heavy contact relay is NOT engaged unless the button is pushed
also
Each 25 amps the alternator produces consumes ~ 1 engine HP so it is not just a cakewalk for the engine either.
1hp = 746 watts ..... 25a*14v = 350w
less than 1/2 horse power
yes there is mechanical conversion to electrical and the alternator does get warm
but without HP measurements , i don't believe that its over 50% loss
