Using different batteries and solar chargers questions

My new TT came with one deep cycle Interstate Battery (Model SRM-24) and I want to add a second battery. Is it okay to use a different brand battery with the existing one, and do I have to match the r...

My controller, Morningstar SG-4, cost less than $30. I have a 75W unmounted panel. When you can get a good little controller for so little money, why in the world would you want to do without? Doing without a controller is like trying to fill a gallon jug at a spigot with none of your five senses... you can't tell how fast the water is pouring in or when it's getting full, if you overfilled the jug 5 hours ago or if the water is even running! Good way to wreck a battery.
