We have used ours for 1.5 years fulltiming (i.e. a lot). A few notes:
It shouldn't 'cycle' at night. If it is, you probably have a water leak.
You must keep the seal clean and watch out for bits getting stuck. If you hear it 'cycle' when no one is using it, there may be just enough of a gap for water to very slowly leak through. That will eventually cause the pump to operate - 'cycling'. Just clean the black ring with a toilet brush and flush - it should get whatever is stuck loose.
At 10,000 feet, it takes at least twice as long to flush as at sea level.
If you have more water in the bowl before flushing, it flushes faster.
If you don't want the noise at night, turn it off. One quick trip to the loo at night won't break it. You can still dump it down the shoot, it just won't 'cycle'. Just remember to flush in the morning.
We love ours - no odor from the black tank. BUT, if your black tank gets too full, it won't flush. It can happen at the most inconvenient time...
