Californiagrad, is not part of the universe I'm afraid. Especially the central coast region. Newspapers have extensive articles describing homeowners in San Francisco chortling over their million dollar shacks that would cost 15,000 dollars down here. Yes it is entertaining seeing someone chortle over having the living snot property taxed out of them for a ghetto grade home. The San Francisco Chronicle is nothing more than a yuppie real estate magazine for hookah puffers.
Billions in gasoline taxes collected and poor Pablo nearly had the front end ripped out of his new Toyota on Interstate 805 by a section of hole adjacent to an overpass abutment. I bit my cheek. Gasoline costs one dollar a gallon higher for these improved highways.
So when humanity agrees a car is a piece of **** but California disagrees, it suits them. And me.
A question or two:
Is there a common denominator for electric car drive trains? A manufacturer (who would be a subcontractor) to supply motor and drive trains?
And has there been extensive CONSUMER study of electric battery use regarding cycle life versus DOD of the lithium batteries? How about sourcing of different Chinese made Japanese supervised lithium batteries? Comparisons between Far East and Tesla USA batteries? Battery management systems for universal application?
I have never seen such quick adaptation of new technology minus common sense analysis. People are rushing utterly blind into this technology. A multi-thousand dollar battery pack at 120,000 miles. Solly Charley my toad wil go twice that. And what happens to DANGEROUS scrapped cells? Exactly how are bad cells recycled. Where do they go and is there information as to how much energy has to go into a turnaround versus manufacturing of a cell with raw virgin material?
I stand incredulous...
