I would have killed a lot of batteries with my solar panel due to lack of water maintenance if I didn't have AGM's. It sat untouched for two years once and when I finally got around to using it again I had a full charge. The only time this pair was run below 11v was once I forgot to pull the fridge and propane detector fuses during a long rainy season. My 55w panel doesn't put much out with partial foliage blockage and heavy overcast.
