Ok, I did my voltage drop test, saw a big drop at the fuse to the inverter, voila, bad connection via extra washer. I was doing a test with the hot water heater on electric via inverter, and the fuse holder was starting to melt....
Once I routed everything to a single bus (pos & neg), the Samlex inverter was holding steady at 13.01v under microwave load. Pretty impressive.
So i’m going to redo the wiring all to a single bus. Couple of questions:
Need to replace fuse, I assume at 3000w peak it’ll need 400 amp fuse. looking at Blue Seas 400 amp fuse and T class holder. Any reasonable options in resettable circuit breakers?
2nd question - if I go to a single bus then I lose the cutoff switch as a total system shutdown option (it was originally placed between the 2 positive buses). Same goes for the negative shunt for the Victron battery monitor.
So, I guess i’d Have to go back to wiring the batteries in parallel then output on positive to cutoff then to bus, and on negative to battery shunt and then to bus. Anything special I need to consider to wire balanced for 5 batteries (12v each) vs 4?
