Well, so much for that experiment. Found one of the interconnect cables pulled out of the lug so that pair did not get fully charged (actually neither pair did). Good news is that the lower pair was a bit over 1.200 (~70% SOC according to Trojan) via the hydrometer and the cells were equal so that means I didn't overdischarge those last weekend and the cable must have pulled out while being charged. I fixed that cable and had the DW hold one end while I pulled on the cable. It stayed connected. The higher of the pair was at 1.275 but still took some amps when hooked up to the charger so I'm leaving those charge until it goes to float. I currently have both pairs separated on different chargers. My next boondock trip is in 3.5 weeks so I have another chance to test.
