I want to address the current draw while using an inverter on an RV. Some say the microwave will pull a 170 amps. Are you using a 12-volt microwave? Ohm's law does not make sense in this situation. Let's take a 1000 watt microwave oven using 120 volts it's only going to pull less than 10 amps. So how are we coming up with a 170 amp draw?
The basic rule of thumb is inverter AC draw requires 10x DC draw. I use 11x to better account for conversion losses.
