The array and battery voltage will match just like a 18v panel (12v) matches to battery voltage. I wonder if any additional heat is created when switching from battery voltage to Voc (13.2v to 21v or 13.2v to 40v @ X Hz)? I don't see how since Voc is zero power.
If the OP only needs 1 panel, why start with 4?
