If the panels are 'free' and compatible with the controller there is nothing wrong with using them.
By the time you sell those panels and use the money to purchase new 12v panels... you will not gain much if any power for the same $$$.
I say use them as is. No worry on voltage drop on the wire #10 is fine. These panels can only be superior in partial shade and cloudy conditions.
At some point if you want to extract all the potential you can spend money on an MPPT controller. As is I think you might do quite well with 2 to 4 of those panels with the understanding rated Isc will be the maximum current.
