Walmart has new auto battery maker

Interesting the MOPAR branded batteries in our 2016 (early 2016) I just replaced in the end of November. They were 730 CCA they were six years old at failure. Replaced both new were 750 CCA also MOPAR branded.

wonder if sams club will change too. They were using east penn mfg duracell batteries

Yeah. I considered that but I will able to monitor them on local driving until summer, when I will replace both. about 70 degrees today. The 750 was free and available today. The old one had a dead cell. And the remaining 850 is probably about a 750 by now. We'll see.

And FWIW, the new battery was made in S. Korea, while the one year old one says it was distributed by Clarios and I don't see country of origin. That all indicates a new manufacturer vs a name change. But I just posted what I was told by Walmart manager in automotive.

Maybe but the case is completely different and is sealed vs capped.

From what I read, Johnson Controls was acquired by a new company in 2019 called Clarios LLC.
