And how many does one have to order? When someone found SiO2--I could get them for $100 each--but you had to order 50.
Need four cells to make a 12v battery. Not much volume discount.

Yes, I thought it was being backed up by Walmart.
Still need to comply with the WM service agreement or get booted off so there is some expectation of customer service and could be escalated to WM.

    Same for Amazon items.

    As well a 100 amp-hour 3.2 volt prismatic cell $125
Can import direct from China that $125 gets you a 280 amp-hour cell.
This seller is making good business.

I recently built 600AH of Lithiums for $1200 (including BMS) and probably 10 hours of my time. Not that hard to do and that makes my time worth hundreds $$/ hour.

I suspect Piano is just reporting a "good deal" for a COMPLETE battery and giving folks on the forum a chance on buying them at a good price.

While you and I may be in the advanced DIY crowd, not everyone has the skill, knowledge, talent or time to do so..

Time is not free, it costs you something.

Personally, my time to me is worth min of $50 per hr, 10 hrs of "build time" to me is $500. Add in $200 worth of materials and no we are at $700 which is nearly $200 more than the ready assembled battery Piano linked.

As far as saving money DIYing a battery goes, there are places to pick your time battles, to me, this one is not worth it as I would rather be doing something more constructive like family time rather than work or hobby time.

My concern with Pianos link is it looks like WM.com is selling it, but in reality it is a third party and not WM and anything goes sideways you will not be dealing with WM.

They are also selling bms units.

There is a 6.5 amp 3.2 volt cell as well for those who wish to 'roll their own'.

    As well a 100 amp-hour 3.2 volt prismatic cell $125

    Wrong.

That is not "Walmart" selling them, it is a "third party" vendor that is using Walmart.com.

    Notice the seller name?

Walmart like quite a few other brick and mortar stores allows third party vendors in the same fashion as Amazon to setup and sell on the WM website, those third party vendors may or may not offer the same warranty or exchange/refund policies and may even be bogus so, Buyer Be Aware!

Sometimes if it looks too good to be true, it often is too good to be true..
