Water heater element problem.
How's everybody doing ? My 6 gal hot water heater quit the other day its a ao smith.
Pulled it out and it had a lot of white scale in the bottom so it put a gallon of vinegar in it and let it set it cleaned up good.
I got a element from ferguson plumping supply same length. When I hooked everything back up its only pulling 5.2 amps but its heating the water.
I checked the package for the number on the element and it says 240 volt 3000 watt I knew it was 3000 watt but the guy said try it. The old one was 120 1500 watt.
I don't understand if its a 240 v its only got 2 screws for wires it looks like a 120 v element. Do yawl think this will work out. http://www.ferguson.com/FergusonSearch/RecordDetails.action?R=PROD_1302367&search=true
Now for the other problem the pressure valve is dripping is there anything I can do for it. Thanks
