Water Heater Flush?
Has anyone flushed their water heater with vinegar or other similar non-toxic solution to de-scale and de-lime the interior? Is it recommended and did it work? What did you use and how did you apply...

Atwood has a vinegar soak procedure in their WH Manuals
Drain water heater.....re-install drain plug
Remove T&P Relief Valve
Pour 4 gallons white vinegar into WH Tank via T&P Relief Valve opening
Pour 2 gallons water in
Re-install T&P Relief Valve
Turn WH ON and let it heat/cool for 4 complete heating cycles
Then drain/flush
4 gallons vinegar to 2 gallons water is for 6 gallon WH
Adjust accordingly for larger capacity tanks
When draining/flushing I prefer to do a 'power flush'
Turn water supply OFF
Remove drain plug
Then turn water supply back on full force and let it BLOW out thru drain hole
Turn water Off....ON until crud is blown out
Those 'cleaning wands' take up too much of drain hole especially Atwood's 1/2" diameter drain hole
