And I will take exception to that.. The inside warning light is labeled FAULT.
The Atwood water heater can detect 3 faults.
1: Gas: Fail to ignight (NOTE: it may claim this happened even if it did not)
2: OVER TEMP (Both gas and ELECTRIC can cause this fault)
3: Red wire off the ECO (Atwood terms)
Instructions for winterizing the Atwood include "Remove the read wire" and the FAULT light will come on if you fire up Electric with the red wire disconnected.. Removing this wire says "Too hot" to the heater control system.
Only once have I seen the FAULT light when I turned on electric.. Yup, first use in spring, forgot to re-connect the wire.. Fixed easily.
On gas I see it often (Fails to detect ignition) Even if the burner lights.. Of course that was with the OLD controller. New one has only done it once.
