Water Heater Troubleshoot

I have a 1997 Gulf stream c class that I recently bought. On my last trip I fired up the water heater. I fired up and showed a strong blue flame. I figured it was working great until I checked a couple of hours later it had shut off. I tried to relight but it wouldnt fire up.

had propane, had water in tank. looking at the burner there is a salmon colored cable with some type of receptacle or socket on the end coming out of the heater but not connected to anything. There is also a black wire coming from the seam at the front lip of the heater that is also not connected to anything. It looks like it was cut off.

Please let me know what it is that I dont know (which is alot) I will try to attach the pictures.
Thanks everyone

I have the suburban. Ive got 3 pictures but cant get them to post. Looking at your pic, the salmon colored wire thing is just laying on the lower shelf and not plugged into anything. Also there is a cut black wire. My control switch is inside on my monitor panel

My pics are uploaded to tiny pic but I cant figure out how to put them up. I copy the img url and click on the image box on the message reply but just get what is at the top of my first post.

    Thanks

  • Atwood

    Suburban

    Which do you have?

If Atwood...control board is located in outside compartment (upper right) and all wiring goes to/from it

If Suburban....control board is located on side and has to be accessed from inside rig

Post Brand & Model for better info.
